According to ARPANSA (Australian radiation protection and Nuclear safety agency) it is a licence condition that any person who uses a source or facility must have appropriate training in radiation safety in all states of Australia. To assist licence holders comply with this condition ARPANSA recognises radiation safety courses approved by the state and territory regulators.
The course also meets the requirements for APHRA 4 hours CPD when applied according to relevant AHPRA guidelines This laser course is designed to provide the practitioner with a laser safety officer certificate. Suitable for Beauty Therapists, Technicians , nurses, midwifes, physiotherapist, chiropractors, tattoo artists and other qualified staff that operate IPL & Laser systems in clinical situations, as well anyone wishing to commence work as a laser practitioner It is also recognised as CPD for all relevant APHRA boards relevant to APHRA guidelines. What Will You Receive Upon Completion? · Government certification as a Laser Safety Officer (upon successful passing a multiple choice exam). You will be given a course manual as well as a multiple choice exam Who endorses/recognises it? All Australian States that have an endorsing authority including but not limited to Queensland Government Radiation Health, Health Protection; The Government of Western Australia Radiological Council; Tasmanian Government Radiation Protection Unit; and also meets meets the requirements for Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency APHRA 4 hours CPD ARPANSA (Australian radiation protection and Nuclear safety agency) Minimum Qualifications Required : The Act states persons seeking a license to use laser apparatus are required to possess a working understanding of biology, physiology, pathology, anatomy of skin, types of skin lesions, wound healing, scar management and pain management.
